In Romania, Christmas carols are usually accompanied by a Christmas Star, the symbol of Jesus’s birth, reminding of the three magi’s quest to find the promised Saviour of the world. A group of parents and their children from Eindhoven and some neighboring cities kept the caroling custom alive every year.
At first I presented an understandable version of the biblical story to the children, along with the explanation of different words and materials we used, all being symbols of Christmas.
The materials were, among others: wood, straw as the one in Jesus’s manger, pine cones, bells, painted acorn caps and polyurethane foam.
